The Dental Auxiliary Training Center (DATC) offers a hands-on dental assistant training program that can be completed in just four months. With evening classes held across multiple New York locations, this program is designed to provide affordable and accessible training for aspiring dental assistants.

DATC’s dental assistant training combines classroom instruction with practical, hands-on learning to prepare students for a variety of dental office responsibilities. Students are trained in key areas such as dental terminology, infection control, radiology, charting, and sterilization techniques. Instruction focuses on the essential skills needed to succeed as part of a dental team, from chairside assisting to dental office emergencies.

The program also covers preventive oral hygiene, disease transmission, dental anatomy, and anesthesia, providing a well-rounded foundation. Students will gain experience with dental instruments, materials, and procedures, equipping them for a wide range of tasks in a dental practice.

• High school diploma or GED (foreign diplomas must be translated into English).

The program is priced at $1,995, which includes textbooks and materials. Students can opt for a flexible payment plan with six installments, starting with a $295 deposit and monthly payments of $315.

The program is taught by state-licensed instructors with over 25 years of experience in dental assisting. Many instructors are DATC alumni with decades of teaching expertise. DATC also offers monthly employment readiness Zoom classes to help students with job placement after graduation.

Graduates receive a certificate of achievement upon completing the program and passing the final exam. While the program does not automatically qualify students for New York State licensing, it provides the skills necessary for employment as a dental assistant. Graduates are eligible to pursue the optional DANB exam, which is part of the licensing requirements.
