Mandl School Dental Assistant Program

The Dental Assistant Certificate Program at Mandl School is a 45-week, licensure-qualifying program that prepares students for careers in dental offices, clinics, and hospitals. The program provides 1,020 clock hours of training, combining classroom learning, hands-on practice, and a 300-hour internship to build real-world experience.

• Licensure-Qualifying Training: Students graduate prepared to become certified dental assistants, meeting New York State requirements.
• Comprehensive Curriculum: Includes patient care, infection control, radiography, and dental material preparation, providing a solid foundation for various dental roles.
• Hands-On Experience: Features an on-site dental lab and externships to develop practical skills needed for immediate employment.

First Semester

Students start with foundational knowledge of head and neck anatomy, dental tools, and materials. Basic computer skills for administrative tasks are also covered, ensuring students are equipped for both clinical and office duties.

Second Semester

This semester emphasizes infection control, dental law and ethics, and the prevention of tooth and gum diseases. Students build their knowledge of patient care and dental safety standards, crucial for daily operations in any dental setting.

Third Semester

The final semester is dedicated to a 300-hour professional internship, allowing students to apply their skills in real dental offices or clinics. This hands-on experience is essential for understanding patient care and refining technical expertise.
